Pravesh 2009

Two Day Off-Campus Organized by JSB and KKID

February 21 - 23, 2009.

Jointly organized by Jansons School of Business and the Karl Kubel Institute for Development Education (KKID), Pravesh 2009 was designed to be a two-day off-campus endeavour to enhance the spirit of camaraderie among the MBA students of 2010 batch.  The workshop was conducted in the sylvan settings of KKID's campus housed in the bills of Anakatty.

This novel venture for the students began on the evening of February 21st.  There were four trainers for the workshop, and students were randomly chosen for the four groups, each division under a trainer.

Once the splitting up of students into groups was accomplished, they retired to their allotted rooms, with the delightful expectation of what would be in the offering the next day.

On February 22nd, the day began early with a Yoga session.  During the first half of the day, students interacted with the trainers on a variety of issues like understanding self and others, and why environment was a deciding factor in modifying behaviour.  The second half of the day was interspersed with team games.  Late evening witnessed a cultural show by each group of students.

On February 23rd, after the morning Yoga session, the groups were given direction to visit one tribal hamlet near Anakatty, with the instruction that they are to present their experiences in the afternoon session.  All the groups were ready with the presentations, and detailed discussion on the issues confronted by the groups was carried out.

The penultimate session for the day was a brief meeting of the four groups separately, where issues of self-governance and self-regulation were debated.

There was an informal valedictory function in the evening, and all the students bid adieu to the KKID staff, and returned to their much-loved JSB campus.
