Interaction with Alumnus

Mr. Murali Krishnan

Mr Murali Krishnan, JSBian of the 2008 batch visited the campus on 11th August, 2010, and interacted with a set of 2011 batch students. He works for Mahindra & Mahindra - Farm Equipment Division, Bangalore. He shared his on-the-field experience of selling batteries in the northern corner of the country, during his previous stint with Amara Raja.

Mr Murali drove home the point of getting one’s hands dirty by selling on the streets. No one should aspire to become a marketing manager before learning the tricks of the trade in the marketplace. He emphasised the need to be adaptive, have a sense of application (of knowledge learnt in textbooks) and asked them to be proactive in nature. These, he considered to be the three key attributes for succeeding in today’s corporate world.  Besides, one must have a die-hard attitude in facing the challenges of the day. Sales targets will no longer threaten one’s peace and spoil one’s midnight’s sleep, if one does enough homework beforehand.

He showed a couple of inspiring video clips to motivate the students and reiterated how handicaps can become strengths, and problems could become opportunities.  There was active interaction between our alumnus and the students. He wished the students all the very best for their future.
